Everything isn’t sunshine and rainbows, except when you plant a rainbow-themed garden in the full sun! After a month of daydreaming, I’ve settled on a challenge for myself. I solemnly vow to fill my garden with colorful flowers and vegetables that represent red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, or as I prefer to say, “Roy G. Biv”.

I’m still working out the finer points, which is half the fun. But I can tell you there will be tomatoes. The tomatoes won’t be red though. And there will be flowers; some of them will be green. I’m making a point to grow a few plants you may know and others that might be unexpected or possibly unknown to you.

I can barely stand it that I can’t go outside yet and show you my first idea, so stay tuned and we’ll count down the days to springtime together. Do you have a seed of an idea you’d like to try this summer? Share your plant goals in the comments below.
